Eating at Krimsey’s was a refreshing and delicious experience. I have been to a lot of vegan restaurants in L.A. and the surrounding areas, and most of them have been great, but there is something different about Krimsey’s. There is a very authentic feeling about the place. The owner, Krimsey, is a Baton Rouge, Louisiana native, and the young gentleman at the register was also from Louisiana.
I had the New Orleans Poboy, which had fried hearts of palm with a Tabasco mayo sauce. I had never eaten hearts of palm on a sandwich. The flavors came together perfectly. The Jambalaya was spicy, but delcious, and the cornbread was the best I have ever had. I have had cornbread from a few different vegan restaurants, and nothing comes close to Krimsey’s. They also have Zapp’s Chips, which I’m told are very common in Louisiana, but nearly non existent in California.
TLDR;
Great food and friendly staff!
